Famous Hip Hop Singer Suffers Jet Ski Accident

According to the Miami Herald, Hip Hop singer Sean Kingston suffered a jet ski accident late Sunday evening and was subsequently taken to the Ryder Tauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.

A spokesperson for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Officer Jorge Pino, stated that 21 year old Mr. Kingston, had a female passenger with him when he collided with a bridge.

Two Boats Collide in Miami

Three people were injured and taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a collision between a fishing boat and a speed boat last Friday in Miami Beach. No facts have yet been released because the accident is still under investigation.

All Sorts of Watercraft Accidents Common in Florida

Florida, with it's almost year round warm climate and beautiful beaches, is a hot spot for many different kinds of water activities: boat and jet ski riding, water skiing, tubing, kayaking, parasailing, etc. Unfortunately, very often these activities are carried out negligently and instead of fun, the result is injury, pain, suffering and even death. Referring to the frequency of these accidents, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Agency spokesman recently said: "We're the boating capital of the world so we're also the boating accident capital"...

And he's right: one of the cases mentioned in the article involved a husband and wife (with kids as passengers), who crashed into each other while operating a pair of jet skis...As a result, the wife was airlifted with bone fractures and a major hand injury to a Miami hospital.

Boating Accident in a Friend or Relative's Watercraft

Millions of boaters take to the waters each year in the United States. They fish, cruise, water ski and tube or wakeboard for fun.

Under the law, those at the helm of these watercrafts are responsible for the safety of the people on board their vessel, as well as the safety of people in other boats or even swimmers and divers. In other words, the captain of a boat is responsible not only for his boat's seaworthiness, but for operating it with everyone's safety in mind.

Expensive Errors

When pleasure boat captains make mistakes that end up injuring someone else, they are held responsible under the law. Often, if those injured are close friends or relatives of the captain, the victims may hesitate to file suit for their injuries against him or her due to their close relationship. However, as medical costs, lost wages and loss of future earning capacity hit home, they may regret their decision not to pursue a claim...As they suffer for the loss of their capacity to enjoy life due to pain and suffering, disfigurement and/or the loss of their ability to engage in the daily activities they used to enjoy, their attitude towards the whole situation may start to change....
